weak back legs
Mt 14 year old male cat has suddenly started to walk as though drunk - his back legs appear to be very weak and he keeps falling over. His appetite is still healthy and I can't see anything else wrong. This has just happened over night. Am worried about taking him to the vet as he gets very distressed when travelling. Any help/advice greatly appreciated!

This may be caused by general weakness, interference with spinal cord or nerve function, interference with circulation, inner ear diseases or brain malfunction. In all cases early veterinary attention is adviseable and ny advice is to get him to a vet tonight. Take his food away now and if you would like to discuss the situation I am always available on 1 call advice direct vet premium rate line 0906 11 11 999
Thank you for your advice! Consulted a vet who said that he'd had a stroke and gave treatment. He will recover but he's still a bit "wonky". Managed to get him to the vet in one piece and without him gettin too upset - infact he seamed quite pleased to be going! Anyway, thanks again!
