why is my dogs head dropping suddenly. he also has front leg weakness and is not himself

M collie aged 12 years has started with weakness/discomfort in his front legs and his head drops suddenly. He is occasionally vomiting a frothy mucous and is lethargic.
He has a long history of abdominal surgery after swallowing foreign bodies and as a result wears a muzzle when outside. He is not showing any symptoms that usually occur when he has swallowed something.
He does not have the same energy though has been eating and drinking normally and his bowels have been opened.

He is going this afternoon. I have been watching him when he moves about though he is reluctant. When i took him out into garden he didn't seem to weight bear very well mainly on front left side,( i think) and his head seems to twitch and drop down ? neck?, cant work out if he is in pain as he is not yelping, just lying down as he seems most comfy like this. He has a good appetite and has not vomited today and is drinking and barking at the postman as usual, just does it all sitting down which is not like him, he usually is up and out in the garden running about.

Been to the vet, suspects Harry is lame, has been given an anti inflammatory injection and prescribed meloxicam suspension. We go back next week for a check up.
Thanks doineedavet is a great idea and i will give a donation.
