Cold Weather

I have had a big eight years old whippet for three years.
She is housetrained.
When the cold weather starts, it seems as though quite often she cannot go all night without opening her bowels.
She sleeps in the living room.
She has a coat made from a blanket, which she wears at bedtime.
She has not had a change of diet at all, and has her last meal at 3.30pm. I have reduced this, and increased her dinnertime meal.
She seems to be perfectly healthy.

Try giving her her main meal at breakfast time and making sure she does empty her bowels late afternoon or early evening which may mean taking her for a long walk. Good luck.

Thank you.
I had to take my other dog for a check, today, so took Cassie, too.
Apparently there is nothing medically wrong with her - thank goodness.
She has three meals a day, because she won't eat much for breakfast!!!!
She empties her bowels at 10pm .
I starved her for 24 hours, and she seems fine now.

Thank you.
I did forget to mention - the vet emptied Cassie's anal glands (first time it has been done). He said that could have had something to do with her problem.

Still no mess..

I am still having to troll though all topics to find those that have new information posted so once again I apologise for missing your last comment. I shall add the original problem to my mental list of indications for checking the anal glands. Thanks for the feedback. This is how I originally envisaged this site working.
