Chicken pulling out feathers NOT BROODY

my brother's chicken, Ivy is pulling out the feathers from underneath and isn't broody!
she used to be quite tame, but now she is skittish and puffs&ruffles up her feathers every time you go near her or try to stroke her!
what shall I do! mine& mums chickens are fine with ivy and are not pecking on her, but ivy backs of and fluffs up her feathers every time tazle&bluebell go near her! please help me!

Check he out for mites and lice. Preparations to treat these should be available from your local smallholders suppliers.
Pick her up gently and feel her body behing the breast bone. It should not feel fluid filled or pendulous neither should you be able to feel any lumps or swellings. If in doubt find a country vet to have a look at her.
