engine oil on fencesI am a bit worried about my livery yard as they have decided to paint old engine oil on the fences to stop them chewing it. Is this dangerous to horses 3/4/06 Answer this question |

The engine oil sounds like a good plan to me. It is les irritant than creosote but should have the desired effect. Some horses Seem to develope a taste for tanasiled timber which is not good for them. The worst that is likely to happen with the oil is a mild irritation of the membranes of lips and gums and it may stain your joddies. 3/4/06 |
