long pregnancyhorse was scanned yesterday and a small foal was found. she is 5weeks overdue, foal was alive. can its developement be slowed down by a bad bout of laminitis at christmas. mare was on bute for a month approx. eye measurement was 38-40 mm can this be used to age the foal? thanks for any help 16/6/12 Answer this question |

I know of no formula to relate eye socket aperture to age of foal neither do I know of laminitis slowing foetal developement Bute in early pregnancy a can produce foetal abnormalities As the foal is alive then unless the mare is showing any signs of disease then I would leave well alone and let nature takes it course Please do let us know the outcome 16/6/12 If this answer helped you, please consider donating to our website |
