I don't know what is wrong with her, but somethings not right.

My barrel horse seems to have a cold or the flu so i have let it go. Its been about 2 to 3 weeks now and she isnt making any changes. She acts like herself but has a really runny nose, bad dry cough, heavy breathing, swolen throat, and gets fevers. She sometimes has small panic attacks where she prances and runs around like shes alone for the first time in years. She also has fevers on and off, but not always.

Sounds like strangles but depending where you are could be all sorts of other infectious diseases. Antibiotics can sometimes be useful and at others just turn the problem more chronic. Try steaming (nose bag with bran in a bag boiling water and a little balsam, essential oil, or Vick) 5-6 times daily
